On October 14, 2026, the Diocese of Xuan Loc celebrates an important milestone with the inauguration and dedication of the new shrine church at Our Lady of Nui Cui in Dong Nai Province, Southern Vietnam.
Overlooking the scenic Tri An Lake, this remarkable Catholic pilgrimage destination is known for its 50-meter-high Marian monument, distinctive architecture, and expansive grounds designed to welcome thousands of pilgrims.
The dedication marks an important chapter in the development of one of Vietnam’s largest Catholic pilgrimage centers, highlighting the country’s rich Catholic heritage and Marian traditions.
Our Lady of Nui Cui Shrine – One of Vietnam’s Largest Catholic Pilgrimage Centers
Located in Thong Nhat Commune, Dong Nai Province, approximately 90 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, Our Lady of Nui Cui Pilgrimage Center occupies more than 13.5 hectares of land overlooking Tri An Lake.

Construction of the pilgrimage center began in 2015, with its master plan and architectural design developed by Vietnamese architect Ngo Viet Nam Son.
The complex features a spacious square capable of accommodating more than 100,000 people, making it suitable for major Catholic celebrations, liturgical gatherings, and pilgrimage events.
One of its most recognizable landmarks is the 50-meter-high Marian monument, consisting of a 33-meter statue of the Virgin Mary standing on a 17-meter pedestal. According to VnExpress, it is currently the tallest Marian monument in Vietnam.

The New Church at Our Lady of Nui Cui Shrine
The newly completed shrine church is one of the most prominent architectural features of the pilgrimage complex.
Built on a small hill, the church covers an area of more than 5,000 square meters and features a distinctive crown-inspired architectural design.

Its roof is adorned with decorative elements, including a cross and crown motifs, creating a recognizable silhouette against the surrounding landscape.

Inside, the shrine church features an impressive dome measuring approximately 75 meters in diameter, while the interior can accommodate around 5,000 worshippers.

The interior has been designed with spacious wooden seating, wide aisles, and numerous openings that allow natural light and ventilation.

For major religious celebrations, the surrounding outdoor spaces can accommodate much larger congregations.
Honoring the Vietnamese Martyrs and Catholic Heritage
Beyond its impressive architecture, Our Lady of Nui Cui Shrine incorporates elements reflecting the history, faith, and traditions of the Catholic Church in Vietnam.
Inside the church, decorative reliefs commemorate the Vietnamese Martyrs, whose witness remains an important part of the country’s Catholic heritage.

The wider pilgrimage complex also features architectural elements honoring the 117 Vietnamese Martyrs and Blessed Andrew Phu Yen, the Protomartyr of Vietnam.
