Ky Dong Church, officially known as the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, is one of the best-known Catholic pilgrimage sites in Ho Chi Minh City. Located at 38 Ky Dong Street, the church has long been entrusted to the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists) and is widely recognized as an important center of Marian devotion in southern Vietnam.

The Redemptorists first arrived in Vietnam in 1925 and established their community at Ky Dong in 1928. As the Catholic population continued to grow, the present church was constructed to provide a larger place of worship for both the local faithful and the many pilgrims devoted to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Over the decades, the shrine has become one of the most visited Catholic churches in the city.

Designed in a simple yet elegant architectural style, the church features a spacious nave, high vaulted ceilings, and beautiful stained-glass windows that create a peaceful atmosphere for prayer. At the heart of the sanctuary is the revered icon of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, before which countless faithful come each day to seek the Blessed Mother’s intercession. The church grounds also include the Redemptorist monastery and pastoral facilities that support the congregation’s extensive missionary and charitable work.

Ky Dong is especially renowned for its devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Every Saturday and on major Marian feast days, thousands of Catholics gather here for Mass and novena prayers, entrusting their intentions to Mary. The shrine has become a place of hope and consolation for generations of Vietnamese Catholics, many of whom return regularly to give thanks for prayers answered.

Today, the Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Help remains one of Vietnam’s best-known centers of Marian devotion. Whether attending the Saturday Novena, joining the celebration of the Eucharist, or praying before the revered icon of Our Lady, pilgrims are invited to experience a tradition of faith that has inspired generations of Vietnamese Catholics.
