Today, discover the cultural and spiritual highlights of Hanoi. Begin with a stroll through the bustling Old Quarter, the historic heart of the capital, where traditional streets, local markets, and colonial architecture reflect the city’s unique charm.
Continue to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his simple Stilt House, and the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, one of Vietnam’s most distinctive Buddhist landmarks. Afterwards, visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first national university and a symbol of the country’s long-standing tradition of learning.
The Catholic journey today includes visits to Cua Bac Church, one of Hanoi’s most beautiful colonial-era churches, and St. Joseph’s Cathedral, the seat of the Archdiocese of Hanoi and the spiritual center of the Catholic community in Northern Vietnam. Join Holy Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral (subject to church schedule).
Conclude the day, enjoy the famous Water Puppet Show, a unique traditional art form originating from the Red River Delta that vividly portrays Vietnamese village life, folklore, and culture.

After breakfast, depart Hanoi for Ninh Binh (approximately 2 – 2.5 hours’ drive), often referred to as the “Halong Bay on Land” for its spectacular landscape of limestone mountains, winding rivers, and lush rice fields.
Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic boat journey through the UNESCO-listed Trang An Landscape Complex, where majestic limestone karsts, hidden caves, and tranquil waterways create one of the most breathtaking natural settings in Northern Vietnam.
Continue to Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, the political and cultural center of Vietnam during the 10th and 11th centuries under the Dinh and Early Le Dynasties. Surrounded by dramatic limestone mountains and peaceful countryside, this historic site offers fascinating insights into Vietnam’s early history and royal heritage.

Today is dedicated to exploring two of the most remarkable Catholic landmarks in Northern Vietnam.
After breakfast, depart for Phat Diem Cathedral (approximately 45 minutes from Ninh Binh city center), often referred to as the “Catholic Capital of Vietnam.” Built between 1875 and 1899 under the leadership of Father Pierre Tran Luc, this extraordinary cathedral complex is renowned for its unique blend of traditional Vietnamese temple architecture and Catholic design. Constructed primarily from stone and wood, Phat Diem remains one of the most beautiful and distinctive churches in Vietnam.
Continue to Chau Son Monastery, a peaceful Cistercian monastery nestled among the hills of Nho Quan District. Founded in 1939, the monastery is famous for its striking Gothic-style church built of red brick, creating a unique architectural contrast to the surrounding countryside. Surrounded by forests and tranquil landscapes, Chau Son offers a serene atmosphere for prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
After exploring the monastery grounds, return to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure.
