Authentic Central Vietnam with Pilgrimage Sites (8D7N)

Day 1: Arrive Danang- Transfer Hue( 110km)- evening Mass

Your private guide and driver will meet you outside of the arrival hall at Da Nang City then transfer to Hue.

After that we will have A Spectacular drive to Hue. Following National Highway 1 to Hue City is around 4 hours drive. We’ll stop at Da Nang Beach, followed by a scenic drive over the stunning Hai Van Mountain Pass. This is the highest pass in Vietnam (500m above sea level).

The rugged pass is the final section of the Truong Son Range stretching to the sea.

Hai Van is translated “Sea Clouds”, since the peak of the mountain is in the clouds while its foot is close to the sea. The views over Lang Co Bay are stunning. We’ll make stops along the way for photos and refreshments as required.

Day 2: Morning Mass in Phu Cam cathedral – Lavang - Monastery and Royal Tombs

After morning mass at Phu Cam Cathedral, we drive north of Hue to Our Lady of La Vang – A major pilgrimage center for Catholics in Vietnam, spending time for praying then back to Hue city for lunch.

In the afternoon, we make time to enjoy the atmosphere at Thien An Monastery, which is located in Thuy Bang, Huong Thuy, Thua Thien Hue, in a romantic, airy space in the middle of the forest of pine. After many years of establishment, with type of design as convent church, Thien An Monastery still retains its intimacy, harmonize with nature, and be beautiful between forest. We will have a great time there.

Then we depart to visit some Royal Tombs such as Tu Duc’s Tomb and Khai Dinh ‘s Tomb.

Tu Duc’s Tomb is considered as one of the most beautiful works of royal architecture of the Nguyen dynasty before visiting Monastery of Benedictine in Thien An.

Khai Dinh’s Tomb is home to an imperial audience court, featuring a reinforced concrete stele monument, as well as twelve stone statues representing bodyguards.

Day 3: Hue biking countryside+ Citadel+ cyclo tour( night market available close to hotel)

In the morning, we will take a short ride to a local coffee shop. You’ll be welcomed into a nice and cozy atmosphere, frequented mainly by locals. Your guide will introduce you the schedule of the day and the history of local life, while enjoying a nice Vietnamese coffee.join in biking trip in the countryside of Hue City.

Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge in Hue, 8km east of Hue, is famous for its beautiful roads, peaceful rural landscape and particularly the tile-roofed bridge, which has become a popular destination for tourists.

After that we will visit Citadel, which is located on the North bank of Huong River (Perfume River), inside Hue city.

It is a huge complex covering an area of 520 ha and comprising three circles of ramparts, Kinh Thanh Hue (Hue Capital Citadel), Hoang Thanh (Royal Citadel) and Tu Cam Thanh (Forbidden Citadel). The rule of the last Vietnamese Emperor lasted until the mid-1900s. At the time, the Purple Forbidden City had many buildings and hundreds of rooms. It suffered from termite and cyclone damage, but was still very impressive. Many bullet holes left over from the war can also be observed on the stone walls.

In the evening, we will take a cyclo tour to enjoy the beautiful view of Hue city.

Day 4: Hue- Danang Rooster Church- Hoi An walking tour (night market in walking town)

We continue the journey by driving South of Hue. Stop at Nuoc Ngot orphanage centre for a visit. Then heading to Da Nang over mountain Pass which is specticular view and stop for lunch and Da Nang Cathedral.

After that we depart for Hoi An Old Town. Located on the banks of the poetic Thu Bon River, Hoi An ancient town is an Eastern oriental classic captivation. Between the 17th and 19th centuries, Hoi An was a prosperous trading port, with a number of foreign occupations. These included the Japanese and Chinese, and and also western (Dutch and Spanish) during the 16th and 17th centuries.

Today, this UNESCO World Heritage listed ancient town is home to well- preserved buildings, pedestrianized streets, a quaint riverside and unique cuisines. The narrow lanes are ideal for a 3 hours walking tour to give you a glimpse of an ancient town with its illustrious past. You will visit the Japanese.

Day 5: Hoi An - Our Lady of Tra Kieu- My Son- Shopping

After breakfast at hotel, we will visit Tra Kieu, which is the holy mountain church where pilgrimages gather to pray and memorize the glory and the victory that Our Lady who gave to the faithfuls when they were in the war of self-defense against the Can Vuong Movement in 1885.

In the morning, we drive to visit My Son.

My Son, located in an narrow valley in Duy Tan Commune is around 40km from Hoi An. It was an imperial city of the Cham kingdom, between the 4th and 12th century. The construction of My Son was likely to have been started in the 4th century. During many centuries, the temple complex had more buildings and stupas constructed of varying sizes and became the main cultural vestige of the Champa civilization in Vietnam.

Aside from religious celebrations, which allowed the dynastic royals to spiritually connect with the gods, My Son was also a cultural and religious centre and was the burial place of kings and religious leaders. The Sanctuary now is a large complex of religious relics that comprises more than 70 architectural works. They include temples and towers that connect to each other with complicated red brick designs.

Day 6: Tra Que Village tour- Shopping time

Start after breakfast for a 30 minutes gentle traditional cyclo ride through the flat country lanes to Tra Que, which is a charming little village located just a few kilometers northeast of Hoi An. The village is famous fro growing many kinds of vegetables and herbs including: lettuce, salad, houttuynia, flagrant knoutwed, basil and coriander.

We will learn about the planting and growing of vegetables and herbs. Enjoy

herbal foot massage before taking a short informal cooking class with local family, to learn how to make (and then eat) some local delicacies

Day 7: Cooking class- Beach time

This day will be started with a short trip to visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. You will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – the chefs first demonstrate each dish before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Enjoy your lunch with what you have cooked.

In the afternoon, there will be beach time. Located on An Bang Beach, Soul Kitchen is facing the sea and offers you a real haven of peace. You can spend your remained day lying on a large sofa savouring a sweet Mama Feel good or a boosty Caipi’punch. Then let the melodious sound of the waves and the cool breeze feed your body and soul.

Day 8: Departure

Free at leisure till transferring to airport for your flight home. End of your Vietnam Catholic Tour.
