Itinerary
Upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport, meet your private guide and driver and transfer to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam and an important center of Catholic heritage in Central Vietnam.
Upon arrival in Hue City, check in to your hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. You may wish to relax after your flight or begin discovering the charm of this historic city at your own pace.
Overnight in Hue.
After breakfast, travel north to Our Lady of La Vang, the most important Marian pilgrimage center in Vietnam. Spend time exploring the shrine, attending Mass if available, and enjoying personal prayer and reflection in this sacred place of devotion.
Return to Hue for lunch before continuing to Thien An Monastery, a peaceful Benedictine monastery nestled among pine-covered hills on the outskirts of the city. Surrounded by nature, the monastery offers a tranquil atmosphere ideal for reflection and spiritual renewal.
Later, visit the Hue Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former political and cultural center of the Nguyen Dynasty. Located on the northern bank of the Perfume River, this vast complex includes the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City, offering a fascinating glimpse into Vietnam’s royal past through its palaces, gates, temples, and ancient walls.
Overnight in Hue.
After breakfast, depart Hue and journey south toward Da Nang via the Hai Van Pass, one of Vietnam’s most scenic coastal routes.
En route, visit the Nuoc Ngot Orphanage Centre, where local sisters lovingly care for disabled and underprivileged children. This meaningful encounter offers insight into the spirit of compassion and service found within the local Catholic community.
Continue to Da Nang Cathedral, affectionately known as the “Rooster Cathedral,” one of the city’s most recognizable Catholic landmarks.
After lunch, travel onward to Hoi An Ancient Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located on the banks of the Thu Bon River. Once a thriving international trading port between the 16th and 19th centuries, Hoi An preserves a unique blend of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, and European influences.
Enjoy a walking tour through its charming lantern-lined streets, visiting highlights such as the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Chinese Assembly Hall, and the historic Tan Ky Merchant House. As evening falls, admire the magical atmosphere created by hundreds of colorful lanterns illuminating the ancient town.
Overnight in Hoi An.
After breakfast, visit Our Lady of Tra Kieu, one of Vietnam’s most important Marian pilgrimage sites. Perched on a peaceful hill overlooking the surrounding countryside, the shrine commemorates the protection believed to have been granted by the Blessed Mother to local Catholics during the events of 1885.
Spend time in prayer and reflection before returning to Hoi An.
Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some free time at leisure before transferring to Da Nang Airport for your departure flight.
