La Vang Pilgrimage Congress 2026: The 32nd National Marian Pilgrimage in Vietnam (August 13–15, 2026)
Every August, thousands of Catholics from across Vietnam and around the world journey to the Holy Land of Our Lady of La Vang in Quang Tri Province to participate in one of the most important Marian events in the country.
The 32nd La Vang Pilgrimage Congress will take place from August 13 to 15, 2026, bringing together bishops, priests, religious men and women, and the faithful in prayer, thanksgiving, and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The theme for this year’s Congress is: “MARY, HERALD OF THE GOOD NEWS”
For pilgrims planning to visit Vietnam in August 2026, this special event offers a unique opportunity to experience the vibrant faith and rich Catholic heritage of Vietnam.
1. Why Is the La Vang Pilgrimage Congress So Important?
Our Lady of La Vang holds a special place in the hearts of Vietnamese Catholics. According to tradition, in 1798, during a period of persecution, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to suffering Catholics in the forests of La Vang, comforting them and promising her maternal protection.

Today, La Vang has become the most important Marian pilgrimage center in Vietnam and was elevated to the status of a Minor Basilica by Pope John XXIII in 1961.
The Pilgrimage Congress is regarded as the largest Catholic gathering in Vietnam, attracting tens of thousands of pilgrims who come to pray, receive the Sacraments, participate in liturgical celebrations, and renew their faith.
